Woodworm such as Deathwatch and Furniture Beetle treated

Woodworm is the general term used to describe a number of beetle larvae that eat their way into timber, most notably the Deathwatch Beetle and the Common Furniture Beetle.

They prefer timber with a high moisture content so they are just as likely to attack new wood as old.

We can all recognise woodworm as a series of tiny holes in furniture and at Brunel Preservations we are experienced in treating woodworm attack, especially in structural timber work.

Where severe damage has occurred we can remove and replace affected timbers using epoxy resin timber techniques.

The woodworm treatment process:

  • Identify spread of attack
  • Survey for structural or serious damage
  • Determine whether historic or active
  • Remove infected timbers
  • Timber treatments carried out
  • Replace/make-good

All our wood treatments come with guarantees against reoccurrence backed by the Property Care Association.
